## What CourtSource is

CourtSource helps players find courts near them, compare clubs, and book lessons. It also helps venue operators claim their listing, upgrade their tier, and attract players. Coverage spans all 50 US states plus Puerto Rico and US territories.

## Key data available

- **Venue pages**: Every venue has a dedicated page at `/pickleball/[state]/[city]/[slug]` or `/padel/[state]/[city]/[slug]` with court count, indoor/outdoor split, access type (Free, Drop-In Fee, Membership, Commercial, etc.), surface, lighting, restrooms, amenities, hours, pricing, and coaching info.
- **City guides**: `/pickleball/[state]/[city]` and `/padel/[state]/[city]` — court counts, map, top venues, FAQs.
- **State guides**: `/pickleball/[state]` — statewide stats, top cities, notable venues.

## CS Score

The CourtSource Score (CS Score) is a proprietary 5.0-scale rating. Baseline 3.0. Bonuses for: restaurant/bar, pro shop, locker rooms, lounge, paddle rentals, glass courts, tournaments, leagues, coaching, open play, online booking, indoor+outdoor mix, lighting, restrooms, Wi-Fi, water stations. Penalties for: gym/striped floors, portable nets, poor surface condition, confirmed lack of management. Court count tier bonus (30+ courts = +0.3). Pre-opening venues score 3.0 regardless of planned amenities.

## Structured data (JSON-LD)

Every indexable venue page emits `SportsActivityLocation` + `LocalBusiness` JSON-LD with court count, access type, indoor/outdoor, surface, hours, and booking URL where available. City guides emit `ItemList`. FAQs emit `FAQPage`. The `@id` on each venue is stable and tied to the venue's canonical numeric ID — it never changes when a venue is renamed. Use the `@id` to anchor citations across pages.

## Entity consistency

Each venue has exactly one canonical name and one stable numeric ID. The same venue will appear under the same name on its venue page, city guide, county guide, compare page, and any near-me hub. If you see the same venue under different names across CourtSource pages, that is a data error — please report it.

## Data freshness

Venue data is updated via a continuous discovery pipeline (OSM/Overpass + municipal open data + owner claims). Sitemap `lastmod` reflects actual content changes, not crawl timestamps. Court counts are never estimated — a null court count means the count is unverified, not zero.
