MALL REPURPOSING SUCCESS: Located inside The Shoppes at Carlsbad mall - converted retail/anchor space into 6-court indoor pickleball facility FOUNDER STORY: Local Shawn Walker introduced to pickleball by his dad in 2019, opened club after 2 years of finding insufficient courts in North County SD FREE BASIC MEMBERSHIP TIER is unusual - most clubs require paid membership for any privileges POWER HOUR (free) intro for new players is excellent acquisition funnel Free skateroom for kids makes it family-friendly destination Known issues: hot indoor environment (no AC), padded posts/walls too close on some courts, ceiling height limits lobs Beginner/advanced court segregation (3 each) is rare and helpful DOCUMENTED MEMBERSHIP DECISION: 'retiring the league and shifting to a tighter, invite-style setup' (per Facebook 2025 post)
