About This Facility
W.T. Johnson Community Center (Augusta Recreation Department) features 2 indoor pickleball courts. Named for William Taft "W.T." Johnson (1908-1984), Paine College graduate 1937 and first Attendance Officer for Richmond County Board of Education - President of the Georgia State Recreation Association, Augusta Recreation Dept Employee of the Year 1973. Originally opened as Sunset Center in 1958; renamed March 7, 1978. Contact: Samuel Lilly IV (706-495-6663).
